Signed emails

Help customers trust it’s really you.

Help customers recognise email from their bank or insurer. A verified digital signature lets their mail app check who sent it and whether the signed content has been tampered with.

For banks, insurers and organisations sending high-trust customer email.

A sender customers can inspect

Put a certificate-backed identity on important messages from your bank, insurer or organisation.

A check on signed content

Let the recipient’s compatible mail app check whether the signed message has changed.

Reassurance inside their inbox

Put your identity inside the message.

A convincing display name is easy to copy. A digitally signed email gives the recipient’s compatible mail app a certificate and signed content to check. This is particularly valuable when a bank, insurer or public body sends important customer communications.

Let the customer’s mail app do the checking.

The signature travels with the message. The receiving client checks the signing certificate and the integrity of the signed content, then presents its own signature information. The recipient stays in the place they already read their email.

Start with the messages that matter most.

Statements, policy notices, account changes and sensitive customer updates are natural places to start. Tell us which identities send those messages, how your email is delivered and which customer mail apps matter to your business.

A signing setup around your organisation.

Start with your sending identities, certificate requirements and email provider. Our team will work through DigiCert S/MIME certificates, your delivery requirements and the recipient experience with you. Scope the service around the messages your customers need to trust.

Your questions, answered.

What does the recipient check?

Their compatible email client checks the signing certificate and whether the signed content has changed. The visible experience depends on their mail app and configuration.

Is this the same as DKIM?

They work at different levels. DKIM helps receiving mail systems authenticate a sending domain. S/MIME places a certificate-backed digital signature on the message for compatible recipient mail apps to inspect.

How do we discuss our requirements?

Use the contact form or request a demo. Share your sending identities, expected volume, email provider and the messages you want customers to recognise.

Let’s talk about your customer email.

Tell us what you send, who receives it and what a verified sender would mean for your customers.
