BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is an email specification that allows your brand logo to appear next to your emails in recipients' inboxes.
When properly configured, BIMI displays your verified logo in supporting email clients, increasing brand recognition and trust with your recipients.
BIMI builds on top of DMARC authentication to ensure only legitimate emails from your domain display your logo.
Your logo must meet specific SVG Tiny PS (Portable/Secure) requirements:
- Must be SVG Tiny 1.2 profile
- Square aspect ratio (1:1)
- Centered logo with solid background
- No scripts, animations, or external references
- File size under 32KB recommended
- Hosted on HTTPS with proper CORS headers
Tip: Use online SVG Tiny PS converters to ensure compatibility.
A Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) is a digital certificate that proves you own the trademark for your logo.
When VMC is required:
- Gmail requires VMC to display logos
- Most enterprise email providers require VMC
- VMC requires a registered trademark
When VMC is optional:
- Apple Mail (shows logo without VMC)
- Some other email clients
VMC certificates are issued by DigiCert and Entrust.
